- We also develop programs to meet special needs. Strand7 is a finite element program that can send and receive instructions using excel VBA, Python and many other languages. Some of the buttons on the right are linked to folders in Google Drive that show examples. The "Creep" folder shows how to run Strand7 with a traditional creep problem (Webnotes01a.doc) as well as using MPC equations in API579/ASME FFS-1 (Webnote2a.doc) where the Excel VBA code runs Strand7. Both the background and the computer code are shown. (2) The "Elastic-eval" folder shows the background to checking a model relative to the allowable stress as well as finding the elastic stress range. (3) The "Inelastic Fatigue" folder shows the background and computer code for an inelastic fatigue evaluation. (4) The "API579 Crack" is an Excel VBA code for evaluation of the crack configurations found in Part 9 of the API579/ASME FFS-1 code.
